The purpose of the Institute is to enable people to live life fully. This includes making conscious choices in their lives; celebrating and deepening their own spirituality and bringing that into everyday practice; and seeing more deeply into themselves, recovering their innocence and freedom, and creating new forms of self expression.
The foundation of the Institute's work is providing an environment of safety, where individuals are able to express themselves honestly and openly. The Institute offers educational programs that are spiritual and psychological in nature. The Institute also trains people to lead the educational programs and to provide spiritual counseling.
The Institute honors and respects:
- The inter-relatedness of life
- The value of authentic communication
- The need and right for privacy
- Each person's authentic self expression, wherever she or he is on life's path
- Each person's essence and unique gifts to the world
- Each person's heritage, traditions, ancestry and culture
In honoring these principles, the Institute:
- Does not espouse any one set of beliefs or practices
- Actively includes people of different ages, beliefs, cultures and races
- Strives to offer its programs to people regardless of financial means
- Encourages people to be part of many communities
- Supports people to live fully, not to make the Institute their life
- Teaches people how to embrace these principles within their own lives
